Jacob and I
Thoughts from the Author

"Jacob's Journal - My Journey Home" was written not as a reference book, but if it provides you with some information, then I am happy. Nor did I write it to be an inspirational story, but if it inspires you, then I am glad. I wrote this book for two reasons, first as a tribute to my son; the strongest little man I know. Secondly, I wrote this book as a form of therapy. It helped me to go to a quiet place, and put into words all that I was feeling and helped me to better digest what I was going through as a first-time Mom.

Our Journey

When my husband and I got married we knew that we were going to have children. But as time would have it, that didn't happen right away. We proceeded down the road of infertility medicine, which was a very emotional and stressful road for both of us. After about a year of shots and ultrasounds, I told him that I needed a break. I needed to regroup. Although my age was playing a factor in this, I still needed some time. About a month later we found out the exciting news - we were pregnant! Wow, we did this without any shots or any type of intervention, we were truly blessed! So started our journey!

In Conclusion

All I can tell you is having a child with special needs is exciting, scary at times, but always rewarding. Seeing Jacob's growth and accomplishments on a daily basis, is such a tremendous feeling. So all I can say, is just believe in your child!
